Photo Rejuvenation uses specific wavelengths of light that target and penetrate the deep layers of the skin. This treatment is designed to target pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damaged skin, dilated capillaries, redness, and rosacea. The process works by using accurately targeted light energy to safely treat visible blood vessels or pigmentation.

Photo Rejuvenation is not contra-indicated to pregnancy, breast-feeding and recent suntan/sunburn. We recommend avoiding sun exposure, solariums, and fake tanning for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment. Waxing, abrasive scrubs and retinol should also be avoided leading up to your treatment. SPF30+ must be used daily. Certain medications can interfere with Photo Rejuvenation. An informed consent must be completed prior to treatment for first-time clients.

What to expect:

Before the procedure begins, you will be given protective eyewear to protect you from the bright flashes of light. A cool gel is often applied to the treatment area, both to lubricate the handpiece and to help cool the epidermis during the treatment. Your therapist will apply brief pulses of bright light to the skin through the handpiece. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure may take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour. You will feel a warm sensation caused by the handpiece. Some patients liken the sensation to a light “snap” from a rubber band. Following the procedure, your therapist may help you in icing down the treatment area to help soothe any discomfort from the procedure.

The skin may remain red for up to 24-72 hours. Darkened age spots or freckles may last for up to 7 days. Crusting of the skin may last up to 10 days. Bruising may occur as a result of treatment. Avoid excessive sweating, hot showers, exercise, sauna, spa and swimming for 24 hours. Commence a gentle skincare routine using the recommended products. Sun exposure and fake tanning should be avoided. SPF 30+ must be worn daily.
