Dermaplaning

45 minutes $99

Dermaplaning is a gentle method of exfoliating the skin. A surgical blade is worked over the face removing dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, as well as any fine vellus hair. Any fine hair removed during the treatment will not be stimulated or grow coarse.

This treatment is ideal for blonde hair that cannot be treated by laser, sensitive skin not suitable for microdermabrasion, and a smoother makeup application.

Pre-treatment:

Dermaplaning is contraindicated to use of Roaccutane within the last 12 months, cancer of any kind, grade 3 acne or above, localised skin infections, keloid scarring, blood clotting disorders, pregnancy/breastfeeding, active cold sores, HIV/Hep B and C, recent injectables/chemical peels/laser treatments and sun or wind burn. An informed consent form must be completed prior to treatment for first time clients.

What to expect:

Your therapist will discuss your skin concerns and briefly describe the treatment process. Your skin will be cleansed and patted dry. Your therapist will use the blade to remove the built-up skin and peach fuzz in sections over your whole face, avoiding the eye area. Once completed, a serum will be massaged into the skin – this can have a slight tingling sensation due to the surface layer of skin being removed. We then apply a nourishing oil to hydrate your skin.

Aftercare:

A slight windburn sensation, slight peeling and/or blotchiness are normal for the first few days. Itchiness can occur due to new skin being exposed to environmental elements. Avoid sun exposure and excessive exercise/sweating as much as possible for 3 days post-treatment.
